Evaluate
Before you start prototyping your smart lighting components, you might want to evaluate the capabilities of Bluetooth mesh and our lighting control firmware. This is why we’ve built the Silvair Lighting Evaluation Kit. This modular development kit allows you to:
Prototype
Silvair Firmware is designed to work with a wide range of lighting components. However, depending on your product design and desired functionalities, there are several different integration options available. As part of the prototyping process, we’ll help you choose the ones that work best for you.
The single-chip architecture provides a simple and cost-efficient integration method suitable for the majority of typical lighting components. All lighting control information is processed within a single system-on-chip (SoC) which stores our lighting control firmware.
The dual-chip architecture is slightly more sophisticated and provides more design flexibility. It allows the lighting component’s logic to be processed within its integral MCU, while the system-on-chip with our firmware serves as an application controller for your component.
Silvair Firmware supports several communication interfaces commonly used in the lighting industry. You can integrate Bluetooth mesh connectivity into your component via either UART, DALI or 1-10V interface.
Our firmware can be integrated into many different types of components, but you only need one such smart component to build a Bluetooth mesh luminaire. Use the slider below to find out what arrangements are possible.

Manufacture
To support our partners and shorten their time-to-market, we provide them with Silvair MaTE. It is a set of hardware and software tools that allow you to program, configure and activate Silvair Firmware on the Nordic nRF52 chip. Once you are ready to launch production, Silvair MaTE will deliver all the necessary data from the Silvair Manufacturing Cloud to your components.
Qualify
To lay the ground for a globally interoperable ecosystem of devices, the Bluetooth SIG has established a rigid product qualification procedure. Only qualified Bluetooth mesh devices are fully compliant with the specification, which allows them to work with each other out of the box. The list of qualified Bluetooth mesh products available on the market is maintained and regularly updated by the Bluetooth SIG.

Designed specifically to address the challenging requirements of wireless lighting control, it is the first low-power communication standard that solves the three pain points of today’s connected lighting systems: reliability, scalability and simplicity. It also democratizes lighting control, allowing manufacturers of all sizes and geographies to join a globally interoperable ecosystem of devices that work with each other out of the box.
